The Facebook has announced a new feature, as is currently the most world's largest social network can only offer: New members receive recommendations for pages.
They have said,
"We want to make sure that the Pages people connect to are as valuable as possible, so we'll only suggest Pages that are posting engaging updates. The list of Pages is strictly determined by an algorithm, so none of the suggestions is sponsored and Page administrators can't pay or ask to be included." Helping Newcomers Connect to Interests
So there is no way to influence them through sponsorship?
Can be recommended by other users of Facebook included in the list pages. This must be viewed only on the "Suggest to friends" button below the profile picture of the relevant page.
Competition for search
One can now assume that referral mechanisms in the Internet are becoming increasingly important - and that Facebook has long recognized that. The recommendation of a friend or acquaintance is what it is considerably more valuable than an uncommented search hits on Google. This feature makes Facebook the most poweful referral tools of all time. Google search hits as a fight against recommendations. Whoever wins will include the quality of the recommendations depend on.
